Chateau Biston Brillette
Château Biston-Brillette Cru Bourgeois 2015 - Moulis
The wine's blend is 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines have an average age of 20 years old producing a yield of 45 hl/ha. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted at the cellar. The bunches are destemmed before the fermentations in stainless steel vats that will last 2-3 weeks at 22°C - 28°C. The ageing process in french oak barrels of which 30-35% are new each year will last 12-15 months depending on the vintage.
PVins notes: Dark red in colour, the nose is elegant and complex with ripe red fruit aromas and hints of vanilla and toast. Medium-bodied, well-balanced and structured on the palate, elegant tannins, long finish. The wine has a cellaring potential of 5-10+ years depending on the vintage.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Biston-Brillette has a clean and crisp, almost Pauillac-like bouquet with graphite-tinged black fruit that feels very focused. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, grippy and forthright. There is impressive density to this Moulis, a wine with ambitions. And why not? Give this a few years in the cellar because it certainly has the structure and substance. Drink 2019 - 2033
Wine Enthusiast 92
Ripe, and densely textured, this wine shows an impressive, rich balance between fruit and tannins, with a dry core and broad black fruits that have great intensity. This wine, with 12 months in wood, conveys spice, concentration and excellent potential. Drink from 2024.
